What is Mindfulness?

Mindfulness arises from the Buddhist meditative tradition and in the last years has been adopted in psychotherapy as an integrative tool.

This technique is based on three pillars: tranquil meditation, body screening and Mindfulness itself, which aim to recognize and be aware of emotional states along with the development of intra and interpersonal skills.

  • The therapeutic approach of the contemplative traditions seeks to restore a person's well-being using the spontaneous, non-cognitive state facilitated by meditation which promotes positive aspects such as awareness, self-control, calmness, creativity, motivation, empathy, patience and self-esteem.

In pro-social activities, meditation increases tolerance, loving-kindness, compassion, equanimity and equality that helps to rebalance interpersonal and social issues.

Additionally delivers a more positive outlook of patient life and well-being on the long run maintaining its benefits over time.
