MBTC Program
Welcome to the Mindfulness-Based Therapy and Counseling (MBTC) program, which combines the wisdom of contemplative traditions with therapeutic strategies that aim to enhance positive features which generate awareness, a more balanced life and ‘fell right’.
What is the MBTC program?
MBTC is a therapeutic tool created by the psychiatrist Dr. Yongud Wongpiromsarn from Bangkok, Thailand. It has been integrated in psychotherapy to modulate: anxiety, fears, phobias, depression, post-traumatic stress, low self-esteem, weight management and nutrition, insomnia and in general all problems subordinated to stress. With this approach, you will learn to:
-
Discover how to be present in each moment in a non-reactive state, observing your thoughts and emotions without judging them.
-
Learn how to deactivate automatic functions and acting equanimous in challenging situations, through applying mental clarity, calmness and creativity.
-
Identifies and transform repetitive behavioural patterns and self-sabotaging thoughts that can affect emotional well-being.
How is the MBTC program applied?
The therapeutic approach is based upon three pillars:
Tranquil Meditation
Body screening
Mindfulness itself
The first session consists of an individual assessment to understand the patient's problematics. Then, throughout the eight sessions MBTC’s aim is to develop awareness, tolerance, solidarity, patience, creativity, metacognition, mentalization and proprioception.
Researchers and neuroscientists, based on the evidence found in clinical studies suggest that mindfulness installs positive features that pertain to the affective, interpersonal and intrapersonal dimensions.
